Haha. Oh, Myspace.
Last Valentine's Day I realized that my favorite meal is not really considered a meal to most...
It is versatile.
It is interactive.
It is the cheese board.
Drew Jones put together a delicious one last Valentine's Day with our friend Jon Tillar as the grand finale to a hilarious and touching scavenger hunt for me and Jon's wife Chrissy.
It was amazing...
5 choices of delicious cheese, dried cherries, apples, honey, pistachios, grapes and thinly sliced fresh french bread. It was delectable and it was that night that I realized, THIS is my favorite meal.
But, if I wanted to add some more courses here is what I would include:
I would round out all that cheese with a fresh green salad full of vegetables, nuts, fruit and maybe even some boiled egg and drizzled with a tasty vinaigrette.
Add a small bowl of some sort of pureed soup. Like maybe a butternut squash soup. Mmm, yes. Butternut.
A meal is not complete without dessert. My choice for this favorite meal would be a generous slice of lemon cello cream torte covered in strawberries and topped with whipped cream. (they have a heavenly version at Cheesecake Factory if your mouth is watering like mine is right now and you find yourself needing a piece soon.)
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So, what's your favorite meal?
Drew Jones just read this and told me to let you guys know that his is pepperoni pizza. Nachos and cheese as an appetizer and chocolate ice cream as dessert. Can't forget an ice cold coke to drink.
:)

My favorite meal is Andy's cheesy garlic bread, spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, lemon chicken and wild rice.
ReplyDeleteIt is the bomb!
Oh those Jones boys. How did I guess that would be Drew's favorite meal?
ReplyDeleteBrant and I made an awesome meal a couple Valentine's days ago... we bought homemade ravioli from the North Market and sauteed it with chives and brown sugar. Ahhhmazing!
