Lady Lee's Living Room Inspiration

If you've been around these parts for even a little while you will notice that many of the photos I post are taken in our living room. We spend a lot of our time hanging out in there and so it was important to me to make it a relaxing, clean and cheerful place to be. And if you are wondering what it looked like when we first moved in, here is a little before photo I dug up for you. I took it when we first walked though our house before we bought it:

And just to remind you, here is what it looks like today:

I've gotten some questions about where I picked up certain items so I decided to make an inspiration board of our living room for your reference and provide links to everything. Keep in mind I decorated this room over 2 years ago so unfortunately some of the things I purchased are no longer available, but I did some research and found very similar items so that you don't miss out!

Lady Lee's Living Room:

1.
Original Artwork:
Drew Jones
You can browse through his blog and then email him
at drewtjones@yahoo.com to commission a custom piece
for your own home.

2.
Paint Color:
Valley Mist by Behr
from The Home Depot

    The Rest of the Pillows:
Pier 1

4.
Couch:
Macy's

5.
Vintage Globe Bank:
Etsy

6.
White Shabby Chic Lamp:
Target

7.
Photography:
8.
Extorp Armchair:
Ikea

10.
Nesting Ottomans:
Kittles
or
QVC
(also try overstock.com, that's where I snagged
mine but their inventory changes all the time)

Not pictured are my window treatments. I got the double curtain rods on the french doors from Lowes and the white curtains from Ikea. The roman shades on the windows are from JCPenney.

I'd love to see your living room too. If you have a link showing off the place you live most in your house leave it for me! I'm one of those nosy types that looks in windows with drapes open and lights on while on an evening drive.

Kind of creepy.
So what.

p.s. I've got a new Living Pinterest coming tomorrow so if you've been living some pinterest yourself get ready to link up!!

  1. You work miracles.

You've seen my Christmas living room. It's a work in progress. I do love the patchwork yellow pillow that you have lying around sometimes...do you remember where it came from?

    Also, thanks for the linkies!

  2. e- I got it at the country living fair two years ago. It's basically vintage fabric in diagnol stripes with a heart in the middle that says "home sweet home"

You could totally make it. I'll try to get a pic of it next time I have the camera out to send to you.

  3. You inspired my post today. Check it: www.heatherboersma.com/blog

Love your pillows!! My husband won't "let" me get anything with bows, ruffles, flowers, pink...but I want to find some nice yellow ones.

  4. heatherb: oh husbands. drew generally lets me do what I want when it comes to decor thank God. It might be because he knows I love it so much and have a lot of fun with it. But if he said no to pink or bows or ruffles I might just start asking for ruffles for christmas and then be all, "it was a GIFT, we MUST keep it!" about it.

  6. Yay! I love your livingroom and house tours in general so this was fun. Did you have the floors redone or were you able to just pull up that old carpet? I need to go pillow shopping.

Alright! I am ready for you linky-loo party tomorrow.

  7. I've been coveting your living room every time I saw it in the background of pics, so I love all the links! Also- I'm totally that person who looks through windows at night too. Jake is always calling me out on the creepy habit. I don't see it as creepy though...just curious. :)

  10. you're not alone, creeper.

i, too, love to look in people's open windows at night to see how it's decorated. for this very reason, i am the first to close our shades as the sun goes down (unless i just cleaned house -- then it's look all you want strangers, i live in a perfect world. ha!)

    adorable living room.

  12. I love your style, thanks for passing on all those links! My favorite room in our house is our kitchen--we designed the entire thing to fit what we want and I love spending time in there with the music blasting, the family dancing, and yumminess simmering on the stove. You can check it out here: http://www.mcmadness.com/2009/06/kitchen-before-and-after.html

  19. Your design looks great. I love the way you changed it into something different. The present design looks cool as well. It's good to have a more lit living room. I think the presence of curtain onto one of your windows made the room darker. Anyway, I just noticed that the grand father's or grand mother's clock is gone. Where did you put it by the way?
