41 weeks: This Just In!

OUR BABY.

IS.

COMING!

We are going to the hospital tonight and expecting him by tomorrow!

All is well and he is looking really great. My amniotic fluid is low and so they just don't think it would be safe for me to go any longer. So here we are!

We would love for you to pray for us! For a labor and delivery that is blessed and easy. For experienced, patient and gentle nurses and staff. Pray for the midwives Becky & Emily, that they would be alert and focused and God would work through them. For our families traveling. But most of all for our precious baby, that he would come out easily and be healthy in every way.

Thank you so much! WEEEEEEE!!! I'm going to be a Mama!!!!

Baby Wants

Oh Gap, thank God you make baby clothes.

Oh and check out these adorable finds from Zara...

I also found this stuffed toy that literally made me laugh out loud.

Have any good baby finds?
Do share!

Still Pregnant

Nope, no baby yet.

It is fun when people ask when I'm due to say "6 days ago" and watch their eyes get big and then inevitably ask "is it a boy?". It seems boys like extra time with just their Mamas.

We are so excited for the adventure of labor and delivery. We CAN'T WAIT to see our baby's face and hold his little body, kiss his face and feet. And it seems everyone around us feels the same way too. We get texts, calls, facebook messages all day long, "Baby?" :)

But as we were going to bed Saturday night I said to Drew Jones, "You know if he would have come before now we wouldn't have some of the sweet memories we've made together in the last few days". He agreed. Kindness gives way for kindness and I feel like the kindness, gentleness and overall love between Drew and I has been sweeping back and forth between us with ease. He takes really good care of me and everyday there is at least one moment where I look at him and silently thank God for him. Thank God that our baby will be fathered well with intention and devotion.

So, it seems the wait could be as little as today and as much as a week from now. Drew Jones said to me yesterday, "You know we could end up having a May baby..." I've never considered this, but he is right. Woowee!

Pregnancy Stats

I know, I know. You've already seen these photos.

Well to be fair you haven't seen that one yet.

Or this one:

I had an appointment yesterday. His heartbeat is 150, my belly is measuring right where it should be (don't act so shocked! I KNOW it's big, but to be fair I have a short torso...) I'm 2 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced. For those of you who are weirded out by hearing details about my cervix, I'm sorry, it comes with the pregnancy territory.

Babies in animal hats

If liking babies in animal hats is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Look at these cuties I found...

A little lamb hat, perfect for an Easter baby.

This one kind of looks like an owl with a baby head it it's mouth, but somehow I still think it's cute.

This may be my favorite one.

Baby bunny ears, so sweet...and at $15 so affordable too.

Welp, you're adorable.

A fox one!

Same baby, different hat. Equally adorable.

Oh heavens.

Okay, I'm done.

Miss Stacia Lee

This is my big sister Stacia.
My whole life she has been the fashionable one.

It wasn't until my early 20's that I really started to find my own style, but she has always had one.

Here she is in grade school combining neon stripes and suspenders with a stone washed duffel. Even her Barbie lunch pail goes with her outfit. Hangin' Tough.

I think I was able to avoid thinking about style for so long because I could just cross the hall from my bedroom to hers and raid her closet. I figured whatever I picked out of there has got to be cool. And it was. Very convenient.

Not so much for her though. Having your little sister take your clothes that are-so-new-they-still-have tags-on-them-and-you-bought-them-with-your-own-money is annoying enough to talk about it over a decade later.

Which she does.

And I deserve it.

I am introducing you to Stacia because much to my delight, SHE HAS STARTED A BLOG! :)

And it is just so sweet. It is called Free to be Stacia Lee. She combines her fashion and everyday looks with her love for antiquing and being thrifty. I love it.

Go check it out. You'll love her. She's fabulous.

40 weeks

I am 40 weeks today!

To celebrate the due date here is a progression of the our growth...

The other day is occurred to me in a different way than normal that there are two heartbeats beating within this one body. I told this to Drew Jones and he said that what is even crazier is that one of those heartbeats is keeping the other heartbeat going.

I just thought that was kind of beautiful.

Super Dog

Well Grandma made her a Superman bandana (to go with the superman cape she made the baby) and it had the same effect.
Hahaha, she looks petrified. Oh, Scout.

Oh and hey, my due date is TOMORROW.

Can you believe this?

TOMORROW.

Which really means I will be having a baby sometime in the next week, week and a half or so...

Or TOMORROW.

Or TODAY.

WEEEEEEEE!

Baby Jones' Room

Hooray!
The nursery is complete!
We decided to forgo a theme and just compile things we love. A lot of what the room is filled with are handmade things from family and friends and Drew Jones' artwork which makes it all the more special. I love all the the different textures and colors in the room and how they work together. Let me give you the tour...

My Mom sewed this amazing quilt for the baby. We just LOVE how colorful and fun it is. It brings so much whimsy and joy into the room.

Drew Jones got this antique type set drawer awhile ago at an antique store. We just put little found objects in it. The antique ceramic boy and girl were a gift from my Mom and we used them as the cake toppers at our wedding.

Drew Jones' Dad made that awesome doorknob rack for us a couple Christmases ago. We could never find the perfect spot for it until now. It's an great place to hang the baby's super hero cape collection that Drew Jones' Mom is making for him. The Superman one is already lovingly made and proudly hung. Drew Jones' Mom also made us the Swiss Dot curtains. They fit perfect and are simple and fresh.

Drew Jones made this cowboy shadowbox artwork. He started making these a couple years ago and they are all so unique and nalstagic. If you want one for your home let me know, he takes orders. He can do cowboys, dinosaurs, army men, etc.

You guessed it, Drew Jones also painted the painting. It totally makes the entire room don't you think?

Drew Jones made the fab Dinosaur artwork.
Our friend Ciara crocheted the soft blue poof as a gift. But if you want one she is takes orders as well! I am excited to put our little baby boy in the middle of it and take lots of photos.

The beautiful dresser is vintage from Drew Jones' childhood.

Ciara also made us the crocheted Yoda (again she is totally available for hire, let me know if you want her info). Drew Jones was tickled. And he is going to be weirded out that I described him as tickled, but it's true. We got the photo of Scout printed on glass with a company called Fracture. My sister got us the blue fluffy rug, the link is below. It was the last thing I put in the room and made it feel complete. :)

The little piggy bank is Drew Jones' from when he was a baby. It has his name and birthdate engraved on it. The antique watercolor set is from my Mom. She picks them up for Drew whenever she finds a really neat one and he has a great little collection now. The framed artwork is a page from an old children's book called "The Clumsy Cowboy" I found it on Etsy but you can find it other places like Amazon.

I thought it might be nice to show you a photo of the closet as well in case any future mama's need organization ideas. All the organizational components are from Target. I have gotten a lot of hand-me-downs so I bought three big bins to separate them into the different sizes and put them on the highest shelf. The grey metal bins hold toys and books. The hanging shelves hold receiving blankets and quilts and they even have those drawers you can purchase to keep things in.

So now all we need is the baby!
WOOHOO!

Keels Photography Maternity Photos

We had Maternity Photos done by our favorite photographer and friend, Chris Keels. He did such a fabulous job and I want to show you each and every photo he took, but I am going to try and practice restraint. I might not do very well with that though, so get ready for a Jones Photo Bonanza!

When I was looking through these photos for the first time yesterday all of this felt more real than ever before. I felt a little surge of adrenaline rush through my veins and butterflies in my stomach.

We are so blessed to have Chris Keels take these photos for us.
We will treasure them forever.
