11 month old Westley

This babe is just weeks away from turning one.

ONE.

But right now he is 11 months and we are loving every moment with him.

I mean look at that FACE.

BAH. I CANNOT STAND IT.

Some general stats:

Favorite Food: Avocado, Gerber Puffs

Bedtime buddy: Simba

Loathes: Getting his diaper changed. He cries and squirms and kicks.

Loves: Making up and performing "dance" routines with Mama or Dada.

Sleeping: 2 naps at 9am and 1pm. And night sleep from 6:30 pm to 6:30 or 7 am straight. Sweet sweet angel, Mama thanks you.

Teeth: He's got 6. Four on top, two on bottom.

Working on: Learning to walk, signing "please"

Pretty good at: Listening when we tell him "no no!"

Smells like: Strawberry Pez

 There are so many things that I don't want to forget about you right now Westley...

Like how when I put you down for a sleep we stand by your crib and you hug me and I say "Where are your birds?" and you turn to your paper crane mobile and reach to grab them. And I'll whisper, "Be gentle, let go." and you'll unclench your little hand and let the bird go. And sometimes you will tip your head back and want me to swish your little face under the birds so that they tickle your face. You'll laugh, close your eyes, catch a crane and try to tickle your own face with it.

Or how when you wake up from your second nap and just want to rest your head on my shoulder and be held tight for at least 15 minutes before moving on with the rest of the day.

How you kiss yourself in the big mirror in our room. I'll say, "awww who is that cuuuute baby? You should give him a kiss!" and you smile and slobber all over it.

Before bath time when we let you be nakey and crawl all over the bed laughing and pummel your head into pillows.

After bath time how I'll say loudly from downstairs, "Is there a nakey babeeeeyyyy? Excuse me! Is there a NAKEEEEYY?!" And you will gulp down air and squeal and laugh and you and Dada will hide under pillows and blankets from me. But I always find you because you peek over them and I tickle you and kiss your back and belly and it is the best.

When I eat anything in front of you, you perk up and crawl over. You'll pause on the way and say "uh, uh." and make the sign for eat and then the sign for "I want that" and then come crawl up on me like a puppy. We sit there snacking together and for some reason it makes me so happy to share whatever I have with you.

How you cross your little ankles while you are eating in your high chair and if something tastes really good you tip your chin up to the heavens and say "mmmmmmmmmmm!" and sometimes even dance.


There are so many things. I could go on and on.

Not a day goes by that I don't realize how blessed we are to have you.
